Lightweight steel safety decking, installed at speed
G-Deck Lite is a lightweight steel safety decking system made in the UK. Its slim mesh components are designed for manoeuvrability, quick positioning and efficient work-on or walk-on platforms where heavy load-bearing capacity is not required.
It is not G-Deck Standard. Lite carries 2.0 kN/m² — 200 kg/m² and is built for speed and handling rather than the Standard system's higher load capacity. For some projects, that balance of steel rigidity, fast installation and cost efficiency is exactly the right answer.

Published G-Deck Lite specification
Every figure above is taken from the manufacturer's published G-Deck Lite product data. Your project RAMS and Handover Certificate will name the Lite system and its applicable configuration; we do not carry Standard's 6.0 kN/m² claim across to Lite.
G-Deck Lite is certified to BS EN 13374:2013 Barrier Class A for its edge protection. That is different from the ACR[M]001:2014 Class B material fragility rating quoted for Trad Deck, so the two classifications should not be treated as interchangeable.

Why some projects choose G-Deck Lite
- Speed keeps the programme moving. Lightweight, low-profile components are quick to carry, position and dismantle, reducing the time before follow-on trades can start.
- Cost efficiency over larger areas. Faster handling and repeatable installation can make Lite an efficient answer across suitable floor plates without paying for load capacity the project does not need.
- Steel rigidity at a 2.0 kN/m² rating. Lite provides a rigid work-on and walk-on platform while matching the published safe working load of many plastic systems.
- Stock close to the work. We hold a large stock across two depots in Cambridgeshire and Derby, helping us service both the East and Midlands without slowing the programme.
- Qualified installation. Graceland installations are completed by fully qualified, CSCS-carded and FASET-trained operatives, with the relevant handover and inspection documentation.
- A clear route through the legislation. The system selection, RAMS, handover and inspection regime support your duties under the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and CDM 2015.

How a G-Deck Lite installation works

- 01
Enquiry
Send us the drawings, area, site details and programme. We measure on paper wherever possible and arrange a site survey only if the geometry or access needs checking.
- 02
Plan and RAMS
You get a method statement and a delivery window. Crew size is matched to the area, access and installation sequence.
- 03
Install
Lightweight mesh panels and low-profile components are positioned quickly by a qualified crew, with integral handrails, access gates or cross-bracing configured where the design requires them.
- 04
Dismantle
Single-visit collection at the end of the programme.
Trad Deck or G-Deck Lite?
Trad Deck remains the familiar answer on many housebuilding jobs. G-Deck Lite is the right answer for some projects where fast handling, steel rigidity, site logistics and whole-area cost efficiency make the difference. We install both and recommend the system that fits the work, not every customer.
We specify the right system for the project, not the one we happen to hire out.
See Trad Deck for the comparison with the plastic system, or make an enquiry and send us the drawings so we can assess the area.
